It is our mission
to help students develop a balance of the mind, body, and soul.
These components of student development and success are deeply intertwined, with each having an impact on the other. Research conducted by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley (Anderson, Gallagher, & Ritchie, 2017) and research funded by the Canadian Population Health Initiative and a Canada Research Chair in Population Health (2008) found student diet and nutrition to be related to academic success and achievement in school.
A report on research in the field published by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2014) also found student diet to be associated with academic achievement, as well as improvements in cognition, increases in attendance, and improvements in behavior.
Bearing in mind the relationship between a healthy body and student success, we strive to fostering healthy eating habits by providing quality, nutritious meals each day.
Professionally Catered
Meal Plans
Eastwood prepares meals with fresh, high-quality ingredients in its central kitchen, certified for food safety by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 22000). Meals are delivered fresh to our campus each day. Eastwood offers affordably priced, flexible meal plan packages to suit your family's needs throughout the academic year. Half or full package meal plans can be purchased monthly, yearly, or for any duration between.
Half package meal plans are comprised of either breakfast or lunch each day.
Full package meal plans include both breakfast and lunch each day.
To ensure that you always know what your child will be served, Eastwood emails a meal calendar each month to parents who have purchased meal packages.
Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions your child may have, and we will be happy to accommodate them.
Cafeteria
From the cafeteria, students can purchase affordably priced simple sandwiches, healthy snacks, fruit juices, iced tea, and bottled water. Healthy snacks and ingredients for sandwiches are supplied by Kitchen Catering Network. Students have access to the cafeteria twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, during recess times.
